아들이 가르쳐 준 영어

호주에 온지 어언 1년 반... 매일 매일 공부하는 나의 영어 실력은 상당히 더디게 늘어가는데..
매일 매일 호주 아이들과 호주학교에서 뛰놀고 있는 아들의 영어 실력은... 측정 불가라는...

엊그제 저녁먹으면서 아들이 말하기를..
친구하나가 학교에서 자기를 밀었단다..
사기 진작 차원에서, 오바해서, 그애를 혼내줘야 겠다고 해주었더니..
다음날 학교가는길에 아들과의 대화 내용이다.

- 아빠~ 에븐(아들 친구) 혼내 줄거야?'
- 으응... 혼내 줘야지...
- 어떻게 혼내줄건데? 계단에서 밀지 말라고 해야되는데~ 영어로 어떻게 해야하지?

속으로.. Don't push! 이렇게 말해야지... 하고 있는데.. 아들이 계단이 뭐냐고 물어본다.
stair 라고 대답해줬더니..
아들 하는말~

'그럼 No allowed push on the stair 라고 말하면 되겠다~'

라고 하는 거다.. 허걱..
단순명령조로 말하는 나의 영어표현과... 완만하고 부드러운 현지영어의 차이...

올해로.. 꼬박... 한번도 쉬지 않고.. 20년을 공부한 나의 영어 실력... Don't push...
호주 아이들과 선생님과 뛰어 놀면서 튀어나오는 영어.. No allowed push on the stair...

팬케이크~

이곳은 펜케이크가 상당히 유명합니다.
시드니의 녹스 에 가면 엄청 유명한 팬케이크점이 있고..
저희는 별루 관심이 없어서 잘 안먹었는데, 지난번 그릇가게를 지나가다가, 펜케이크 시식을 할 수 있었습니다.
(후라이펜을 팔고 있었는데, 후라이펜은 안보고, 펜케이크만 보고 있다가, 물만 부어서 섞은다음에, 만들어 먹을 수 있는 펜케이크를 사와서 집에서 해먹었습니다)

족발을 요리해 먹었습니다.

한달에 한번씩 열리는 농산물 직거래장터에서 족발을 봤습니다.
상당히 아담하더군요..

요리되지 않은 족발 4개에 3불... 사와서 인터넷에서 레서피 뽑아서 만들어 먹었습니다.
제가 직접 요리 했는데, 맛이 기가 막힙니다. 남대문 족발보다 더 맛있어요~~~
(근데 갑자기 남대문 족발이 먹고 싶군요.. 남대문가서, 족발도 먹고, 닭곰탕도 먹고, 갈매기살도 먹고.. 흐흐 먹고싶어~~~)

아침 일찍~ 일어나서 아침 독서중~

매일은 아니지만.. 가끔씩은 아침에 일찍일어나서, 시키지도 않았는데, 책꽃이에서 책을 꺼내서 책을 읽을때가 있습니다.

아들이 가장 아름답게 보이는 때입니다.
